Photo policy – The Board politely asks that members don’t share photos of other members without their permission on social media- thank you for your understanding.
General
· All members and guests are required to sign in when entering the pool area.
· A soap shower must be taken before entering pools, as required by state law.
· Persons having a communicable or contagious illness, skin disease, sores, or fungus infection, etc. are prohibited by state law from using the pool.
· Obey the lifeguards who make all safety issue decisions.
· The lifeguard’s duty is to watch out for the safety of people in the swimming pool, but not in the wading pool.
· All children in the (fenced in) wading pool area must be accompanied by a parent or babysitter designated by the parent who maintains primary
responsibility for the child or children.
· Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult member or babysitter (18 years or older) at all times, except during swim lessons.
· Floats, balls and other equipment will be restricted in the pool area at the discretion of the lifeguard.
· Swim tests may be administered by the lifeguard to younger children. Only those who demonstrate an ability to handle themselves in the water will be permitted past the five-foot marker in the deep end of the pool.
· Bathing suits are required, no cut-off pants or shorts are permitted.
· Running and horseplay around the pool enclosure are forbidden.
· Divers must not endanger swimmers. However, swimmers should stay out of the diving area.
· Only one person is permitted on the diving board at a time.
· It will be at the lifeguard’s discretion to close the use of the diving board temporarily to allow swimming in the deep end of the pool.
· All persons using hairpins or bobbypins must wear bathing caps.
· No dogs or pets are allowed on the premises.
· Food must not be allowed to fall into the water.
· Non-breakable containers must be used around the pool area. Glass bottles may only be used and stored in the members’ front section of the utility room.
· Only authorized personnel shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the mechanical facilities.
· Cooking is permitted only in the member section of the utility room (microwave) and on the propane grills provided.
· Persons using the grills must ensure that the grill is adequately cleaned and the propane is turned off when finished.
· Lost and found articles should be reported to the lifeguards. The club is not responsible for loss of belongings or damage to personal property.
· All toys and equipment should be returned to the storage locker provided, by the last person using the equipment.
· No one is allowed in the pool area after 11:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m.
Guest Policy & Parties

· All guests must be accompanied by the sponsor member.
· Members are responsible for the conduct and safety of their guests and are liable for any damage caused by them.
· Only adult members (over 18 years of age) may bring guests to the pool on weekends – from Friday 4:00 p.m. through Sunday evening.
· Junior members (under 18 years of age) are limited to two guests each at any one time during the week – Monday a.m. to Friday 4:00 p.m.
· A family may not bring the same guest more than 5 times a season.
· A member bringing more than 8 guests at a time must follow the rules for parties.
· The maximum number of guests allowed for a party at one time is thirty.
· All parties must be arranged with the person responsible for parties one week in advance. Contact a Board member to coordinate parties.
· All parties will be posted on the bulletin board one week in advance.
· Any parties past 8:00 p.m. must arrange for a lifeguard at their own
expense. All parties must end and members and guests must leave the pool at 11:00 p.m.
· Children’s parties (8th graders and below) must end by 6:00 p.m. during the season and 8:00 p.m. before and after the season.
· There must be one member parent present and an additional one parent for every ten children.
· Junior parties of members under 18 years must be over by 9:30 p.m. and chaperoned by one member parent for every ten children.
· Parties may not be scheduled on weekends during the season. A weekend runs from 4:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday evening.
· The cost of parties is $25 for up to 15 people and $50 for more than 15 people.
· Party fees are payable by check to Snuff Mill Swim Club and mailed to the club at P. O. box 3875, Greenville, DE 19807.
Key Privilege
· Only Key members, their families and their guests are allowed to enter or remain in the pool area before or after normal operating hours – noon to 8:00 p.m.
· The key must, at all times, be in an adult member’s possession. No duplication of keys permitted. Lost keys should be reported to the lifeguard.
· You accept full responsibility for the pool and pool equipment when your family and your guests are using the pool during off hours. You will
reimburse the club for all damage that your family or guests cause beyond normal wear and tear.
· An adult member (18 years or over) who signed the key agreement of the club must always be present when the pool is used during off-hours.
· The key user last to use the facilities is responsible for locking up all pool facilities and enclosures, turning off the lights, and locking the entrance gate.
· It is recommended that the gate remain locked while key members are using the pool during off-hours.
· No solo swimming permitted. No excuses, no exceptions.
· Violation of the key agreement and club rules by any member of the key holder’s family will be grounds for expulsion of the family from the club as provided in the By-laws.
